We started Dox on a milkshake of PediaSure and Carnation Instant Breakfast (CIB). His orthopedic
doctor is looking to do the VEPTR procedure on him. The worst side effect of this is skin breakage. Dox is pretty thin for
his age so I needed to find a way to add bulk to his body without causing other problems. CIB was it. It adds the extra calories
he needs along with the extra nutrients he needs.

Dox went to see Dr. Bruno today. In a few days Dox will have dental surgery to remove/cap his baby
teeth.
|
|
|
Dox lost his first baby tooth sometime around April 1, 2008. Debi noticed a little blood and then
noticed the empty spot but didn't find a tooth. He lost a second one a day or so later. These were the bottom front teeth.

Dox had oral surgery today. It went really well. Dr. Miller removed all his front teeth and capped what
molars he had. He stayed sedated until the next morning. And was he hungry! He took his breakfast down in no time! He had
a couple of visitors too! Ms Debi and Ms Amy came by to see him.

Dox had a fourth seizure this morning. He had one on the 25th
and 26th then again early this morning. He was sleeping on the futon. I thought he had to go outside. When I walked past
the den where Dox was sleeping I heard him breathing funny and saw he was blue from head to toe. He was having another seizure
and it was bad. His chest was caved in as well. I grabbed him up, began hitting his butt, rubbing his legs and breathing in
his mouth. I ran with Dox in my arms outside to get Marion. He came in after a second yelling. Marion took Dox and began CPR.
Dox started breathing shallow, ragged and labored. His lips and fingers began pinking up. We raced to the ER. After his initial
assessment, Dox had another seizure. Not as severe as turning blue. He was on O2 at this time. The ER doctor told us they
couldn't admit Dox to their hospital as they didn't have a neurologist on call. They would call Baton Rouge and if a
neurologist would see him, they would transport him there. We agreed and our journey began.

Dox is now in Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge. He is very sick.
They tried putting a nasal canula on him - but it didn't work. He was so fussy and irritable. I found out his CO2 level was
at 120. Normal is around 40. They feel that is the reason for his seizures - his breathing is not as efficient as it should
be. They feel it is due to his physiological aspects: scoliosis, low tone, floppy airways and others.

|
Dox was intubated this evening. He fought all the ways they tried
to get him some oxygen. He was so weak from the build up of CO2 and all the fussing. I hated not being able to help him.

My Gramma Walker came to see me today. She's staying with Mom here

Dox had surgery today to place a trach, mic-key, do a nissen flundiplication
and they repaired his umbilical hernia that had become open. He came through the surgery with flying colors. Now our journey
begans again.

Dox came home today! Woo Hoo!!! He laughed all the way home from
the hospital. Then when he was layed on the futon he had a look on his face like he couldn't believe it was true! When we
put him in his bed that night he giggled like crazy. I think he was glad to get home - what do you think??

We went to see Dr. Bruno today! I was so glad to see him again. I tried to tell him all about what

We went to see Dr. Thomas in Baton Rouge today. He wasn't there because he was sick. We saw Ms Connie.
She said I looked good. She told Momma I didn't have to have my midday breathing treatment and then she lowered the breath
rate on my vent. She also told Momma about something called a Passy-Muir valve. I don't know what it is but I bet Momma will
check the web for information....

Mom said she's going to have to watch my clothes a lot more closely because I'm growing faster than she is used to!
